For
close to 20 years, Mr. Werther has led comprehensive and cutting-edge business, product and marketing initiatives for a number
of Blue Chip companies. As an Operating Officer, Senior Business Development Executive and Strategist,
Mr.Werther’s experience has ranged from developing strategic business plans to business & financial planning advisory
services to the launching of new business ventures.
Mr. Werther has a strong record
of accomplishment in many areas: Marketing; Operations; Finance and Strategy. Moreover, he has done so
in a variety of environments that includes: Citibank, American Express, Cablevision Systems Corporation and a lead partner
in a consulting firm.
Prior to joining Sutton, he was a partner of The Alwyn Group, a boutique-consulting firm that identifies,
builds and executes strategic and tactical solutions, for companies in the media, broadband and telecommunications industries
with an emphasis on emerging media. His clients ranged from fortune 500 media companies to mid-market and start-up businesses.
Mr. Werther’s focus was on creating and implementing programs to enable companies to more effectively plan, finance
and manage their business in the US and Internationally.
During his tenure at Citibank, Mr. Werther created and implemented
new cardmember acquisition programs for Citibank’s retail and event marketing program. During this
time, he created process and policies to ensure applications provided by third party vendors met Citibank’s acceptance
guidelines. As part of Citibank’s “Classic” product management team, he changed the brand
profile, developing and implementing marketing strategies that re-defined the target audience and competitive arena.
He was the lead for Citibank’s Alternate Media channels, participated in interactive/electronic commerce
opportunities and was part of the team that designed and launched the first website for Citibank Credit Cards.
At American
Express, he developed overall strategies for concept development and product design, identified target markets, and conducted
post-launch assessment of new products and services. Mr. Werther focused on new payment technologies led
to the test/creation of the following products: stored value cards, debit cards, Internet cards, secured cards, home equity
based loan consolidation.
Mr. Werther’s functional experience in market analysis and potential, financial analysis, competitive
analysis, emerging technologies and research has allowed him to provide ongoing insight into market shifts.
Mr.
Werther has a Bachelors Degree with honors from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and an MBA from The Wharton School
of Business.
